I've been adding and re-arranging things on the new website. Today I added sections on how to commission a work for live ensembles and how to get a movie scored. I have also uploaded a partial list of previous live ensemble commissions - it was surprising to me how many there are.
For a while now I have been slowly assembling and developing a short film of four sonnets from H. P. Lovecraft's Fungi from Yuggoth. Based on four readings by the eminent Andrew Leman it has been slow going due to time and funding considerations. Much of it is in place but there is much left to do.
This is a shot with a wide-screen overlay of how the stairway going up the sheer cliff face to the observatory looks so far. I am new to making miniature sets like this and am fascinated that it looks much better when photographed or videoed than in "real life".
I've been working on this project for awhile. The script has been written, sets and other things have been designed and some made. The Tentacle Crew® was here one day and we shot footage of the monster. I am now in the process of building a valley which includes a small village, some woods, and very tall cliff with an observatory at the top. This is one of several sets that will be built to hold the action.
I've begun working on a CD project which will attempt to cover the entire H. P. Lovecraft story The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath. Outlining the scenes and form have been completed and now sketching themes, moods and effects will begin. I expect it to be a long process but I think I'll have a good time with it.
